Sharon Van Epps

Bio

As a journalist and essayist,  I’ve  written about parenting and family, adoption, race and social justice, youth sports, food, and the surprising ways those seemingly unrelated topics can intersect. My work has appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Good Housekeeping, Redbook, espnW, Parenting, Scary Mommy, The Kitchn, McSweeney’s and many more publications.

When the Covid-19 pandemic hit, I shifted away from freelancing to making sure my three teenagers stayed healthy and awake during their high school zoom classes. Happily, all three made it to college, and two have already graduated! Meanwhile, I’ve finished the first draft of my first novel, Welcome to Cloud City, a satire all about race, class, rock and roll, and crazy soccer parents.
